The controller of the personal data collected on this site is José Manuel Guerrero, owner of the Santiago Plan project (santiagoplan.com). You can contact the controller through the contact form.

Contact form: when you write to us, we process your name, your email address, and the content of your message, for the sole purpose of handling and responding to your enquiry.

Web analytics: if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to obtain aggregated usage statistics (page views, source, and device type) and improve the site. Analytics are disabled by default until you give your consent.

Newsletter and subscription: if you subscribe through our forms, we process your email address, your language and, optionally, the route and travel date you are interested in, for the purpose of sending you the Camino preparation guide and updates about the routes and the Holy Year (Xacobeo). If you also tick the specific, optional box for commercial communications, we also process your email to send you offers and recommendations for products and services useful for the Camino (for example, accommodation, insurance, or gear, including affiliate links). The subscription is confirmed by double opt-in, that is, a verification email.

Own audience measurement: we count how many visits each page receives in order to know which content is useful. It is an aggregate count per day and page: no cookies are installed, neither your IP address nor any identifier is stored, and those figures cannot be linked to you or used to track you across sites. That is why it does not require your consent.

The processing of the form data is based on your consent when you submit it. Processing for analytics purposes is based on the consent you give through the cookie banner, which you can withdraw at any time.

Sending the newsletter and commercial communications is based on your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the corresponding boxes in the form. The commercial communications box is optional and independent of the subscription. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link included in each email, without this affecting the lawfulness of processing based on the consent given prior to its withdrawal.

Messages sent through the form are forwarded to the owner's inbox using an email service (Google). Usage statistics are provided by Google through Google Analytics. These providers may involve international data transfers, covered by the safeguards established by data protection regulations. We do not disclose your data to third parties except where legally required.

The newsletter and commercial communication emails are sent through the email marketing provider Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, based in France, European Union), which acts as a processor on behalf of the controller.

The form data is retained for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry and, subsequently, for the legally required retention periods. Analytics data is retained in accordance with the Google Analytics configuration.

The newsletter subscription data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed; it is deleted or anonymized when you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, and portability, as well as withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to us through the contact form.

If you consider that the processing of your data does not comply with the regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).
