The Vía de la Plata follows an ancient Roman road north from Sevilla. It is the longest and one of the loneliest routes, with long stages across the dehesa, monumental cities (Mérida, Cáceres, Salamanca, Zamora) and few fellow pilgrims.
At Granja de Moreruela (Zamora) the way forks: those bound for Santiago usually take the Camino Sanabrés, which crosses Sanabria and enters Galicia through Ourense on its way to the Obradoiro. It is this Sevilla–Sanabrés itinerary that we document here.
