El Camino Portugués gana peregrinos cada año hasta casi igualar al Francés. Desde Oporto se puede seguir la variante Central (interior, la histórica, que documentamos aquí) o la de la Costa, junto al Atlántico.

El Central pasa por Barcelos, Ponte de Lima y Tui —donde entra en Galicia— antes de Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis y Padrón, muy ligado a la tradición jacobea.

Un consejo: la salida de Oporto es larga y bastante urbana e industrial; muchos peregrinos la evitan tomando el metro hasta Vairão o eligen la Senda Litoral (por la costa) para las primeras jornadas. Nuestro reparto en 10 etapas marca jornadas de 26-28 km de media; puedes partir las más largas (Barcelos–Ponte de Lima o Tui–Redondela) en dos días si prefieres un ritmo más suave.

A selection of pilgrim hostels (albergues) along the Camino, ordered from the start towards Santiago. The municipal and parish ones are usually the cheapest and many cannot be booked (you arrive and check in in order). Confirm beds, price and opening times before relying on them.
