Leaving Pontevedra across the O Burgo bridge, you head for the monastery of San Xoán de Poio and the lovely fishing village of Combarro, with its granaries lined up along the estuary. A demanding day that ends with the steep climb up to the Cistercian monastery of Santa María de Armenteira, founded in 1162.
